AN ACT IMPLEMENTING A QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM FOR DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Children and Families to (1) adopt and implement the "Performance-based Standards" program developed by the Department of Justice to improve conditions at juvenile justice facilities and used by Connecticut's Judicial Department to compile incident information, analyze data and quickly identify and respond to trends, and (2) compile and share all data culled from such program at least quarterly with the Connecticut Juvenile Training School advisory group and the Office of the Child Advocate.

Statement of Purpose:

To improve conditions at Department of Children and Families facilities by implementing the "Performance-based Standards Program" quality assurance program.
