AN ACT CONCERNING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES EMPLOYEES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 319 of the general statutes be amended to require certain minimum educational requirements for Department of Children and Families case workers and their supervisors. Case workers and their supervisors shall, at a minimum, have a bachelor's degree in social work. Not later than five years after their hire date, case workers and their supervisors shall, at a minimum, have a master's degree in social work. Not later than five years after obtaining a master's degree in social work, case workers and their supervisors shall obtain clinical or master social worker licenses pursuant to chapter 383b of the general statutes.

Statement of Purpose:

To require minimum educational qualifications for case workers and supervisors in the Department of Children and Families.
