AN ACT CONCERNING MEDICAID COST SAVINGS FOR STUDENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That titles 10 and 17b of the general statutes be amended to require that all Medicaid-eligible students at institutions of higher education join the group health insurance program offered by each institution and disenroll from Medicaid, provided that the insurance cost for such students shall be paid from savings realized on Medicaid expenditures.

Statement of Purpose:

To achieve cost savings by enrolling Medicaid eligible college students in the school's health insurance plan.
