AN ACT CONCERNING THE PHYSICAL RESTRAINT OF STUDENTS BY TEACHERS AND SCHOOL PERSONNEL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to permit any teacher or other school employee to refuse to physically restrain a student if such teacher or school employee believes that doing so poses a danger to such teacher or school employee, and to protect such teacher and school employee from any disciplinary action for refusing to physically restrain a student.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect teachers from being required to physically restrain students.
