Summary
As introduced, this bill establishes a safety oversight agency compact to monitor the rail fixed guideway system operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). It establishes the Metrorail Safety Commission which shall have safety regulatory and enforcement authority over the WMATA Rail System and shall act as the state safety oversight authority for WMATA. The compact is between the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
