Summary

The additional language in the statute specifically citing ‘members of the General Assembly’ creates a loophole in the law which requires lobbyists to report campaign contributions given to elected state officials (Governor, Lt. Governor, Treasurer, Auditor, Insurance Commissioner) as gifts. Campaign contributions are required to be reported to the Elections Commission pursuant to Title 15 Chapter 80.
