Summary
This bill would amend the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council’s statute to elect a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson every other year for a two year term rather than annually, and changes the annual report deadline from September to October. The Fatal Incident Review statute is amended to remove the requirement that a physician certify a victim was in serious or critical condition, and adds the requirement that the Attorney General, the Department of Services for Children Youth and Their Families, or any other state or local agency with knowledge of domestic violence-related death or near death incident report the incident to the DVCC. Finally, the bill adds additional members to the Fatal Incident Review Team.
