HOUSE BILL NO. 446

AN ACT TO AMEND T ITLE 6 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO PROHIBITED PURPOSE OF CONSUMER REPORTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1. Amend Chapter 25, Title 6 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:

§ 2510A. Prohibited Purpose of Consumer Reports.

No consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report if the report is being procured based in whole or in part on the presence of an inquiry made in connection with a residential mortgage loan.

SYNOPSIS

This bill prevents a consumer reporting agency from furnishing a consumer report if the report is being obtained due to an inquiry regarding a residential mortgage loan.
