HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 19

RECOGNIZING THE CAREER, ACCOMPLISHMENTS, AND LIFE OF CHARLES T. ARMBRUSTER, JR.



WHEREAS, Charles T. Armbruster, Jr. is a veteran of the United States Army serving a tour from 1968 until 1972 as a helicopter gunner during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Armbruster has been a loving husband to wife Pat since 1976 and a caring father to children – Chip, Katie, and Carrie; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Armbruster has served as State Commander of the American Legion, Department of Delaware from 1998 to 1999; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Armbruster has served as National Executive Committeeman of the American Legion from the Department of Delaware from 2008 to 2010; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Armbruster has served as Chairman of the American Legion High School Oratorical Contest for the Department of Delaware from 1999 until present; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure as Chairman of the American Legion High School Oratorical Contest, Mr. Armbruster has seen a 2nd and 3rd place national winner, both from Dover High School; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Armbruster has served as Chairman of the American Legion Baseball Program in Delaware in the early 1990's, and is presently a member of the Baseball Program Committee for Delaware; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Armbruster has served as Delaware Boys State Chairman from 2001 until 2007, but has been involved with the program since the mid 1990's. During his tenure as Chairman, Ben Wallace from the Wilmington Charter School was elected as Boys Nation President in 2007.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 146th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, that we do hereby celebrate and proudly acknowledge the dedication, commitment, and unique contributions of Charles T. Armbruster, Jr. to the State of Delaware.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that suitably prepared copies of this resolution be presented to Charles T. Armbruster, Jr. and his family.
