148th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 18

RECOGNIZING ASHLEY SK DAVIS FOR HER VALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS TO ART AND CULTURE IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE.



WHEREAS, Ashley SK Davis, throughout her extensive career in dance, has greatly contributed to the artistic and cultural vibrancy of Delaware; and

WHEREAS, Ashley SK Davis, a native of Wilmington, Delaware, began her impressive stage career at the age of 3 and is formally trained in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, African dance forms, and Irish Step dancing; and

WHEREAS, as a Teaching Artist for the Delaware Institute for the Arts in Education ("DIAE") and the Wolf Trap Institute, Ashley SK Davis travels to schools throughout the state to teach Delaware students the principles of dance and drama; and

WHEREAS, as the Executive & Artistic Director of Pieces of a Dream, Inc., a premiere organization for the performing arts, Ashley SK Davis serves the people of Delaware by providing exposure to meaningful art; and

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 148th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, that Ashley SK Davis is recognized for her valuable contributions to art and culture in the State of Delaware.
