3 | providing a short title; amending s. 112.313, F.S.; |
4 | providing that an employee of a state agency with |
5 | investigatory or regulatory functions may not perform |
6 | work for any individual or organization that is the |
7 | subject of a civil or criminal investigation or |
8 | judicial proceeding by that agency during the pendency |
9 | of the investigation or judicial proceeding or for a |
10 | specified period thereafter; specifying certain |
11 | agencies whose employees are affected; providing an |
12 | effective date. |

14 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
15 | |
16 | Section 1. This act may be cited as the "Florida |
17 | Investigatory Integrity Act." |
18 | Section 2. Subsection (18) is added to section 112.313, |
19 | Florida Statutes, to read: |
20 | 112.313 Standards of conduct for public officers, |
21 | employees of agencies, and local government attorneys.- |
22 | (18) EMPLOYEES OF AGENCIES WITH INVESTIGATORY OR |
23 | REGULATORY FUNCTIONS.- |
24 | (a) An employee of a state agency with investigatory or |
25 | regulatory functions may not perform work for any individual or |
26 | organization that is the subject of a civil or criminal |
27 | investigation or judicial proceeding by that agency during the |
28 | pendency of the investigation or judicial proceeding or for a |
29 | period of 2 years thereafter. |
30 | (b) As used in this subsection, the term "state agency" |
31 | includes, but is not limited to, the Attorney General's Office, |
32 | the Department of Financial Services, the Department of |
33 | Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Office of Insurance |
34 | Regulation, the Agency for Health Care Administration, the |
35 | Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Public |
36 | Service Commission, the Department of Law Enforcement, and the |
37 | Florida Highway Patrol, as well as any other state agency with |
38 | investigatory powers. |
39 | Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2012. |
