8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

10 | Section 1. Section 27.251, Florida Statutes, is amended to |
11 | read: |
12 | 27.251 Special |
13 | attorney of each judicial circuit is authorized to employ any |
14 | municipal or county police officer or sheriff's deputy |
15 | |
16 | office with full powers of arrest throughout the judicial |
17 | circuit provided such investigator serves on a special task |
18 | force to investigate matters involving criminal activity the |
19 | detection of which might benefit from a special task force |
20 | |
21 | municipal or county police officer or sheriff's deputy shall be |
22 | paid by the city, county, or sheriff by which the investigator |
23 | is principally employed, and with the consent of the county, |
24 | sheriff, or municipality. The arrest powers granted in this |
25 | section may |
26 | the conduct of the business of the special task force to which |
27 | such municipal or county police officer or sheriff's deputy is |

29 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010. |
