9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

11 | Section 1. Paragraph (d) is added to subsection (1) of |
12 | section 394.875, Florida Statutes, to read: |
13 | 394.875 Crisis stabilization units, residential treatment |
14 | facilities, and residential treatment centers for children and |
15 | adolescents; authorized services; license required.- |

17 | (d) The department is directed to implement a |
18 | demonstration project in circuit 18 to test the impact of |
19 | expanding beds authorized in crisis stabilization units from 30 |
20 | to 50 beds. Specifically, the department is directed to |
21 | authorize existing public or private crisis stabilization units |
22 | in circuit 18 to expand bed capacity to a maximum of 50 beds and |
23 | to assess the impact such expansion would have on the |
24 | availability of crisis stabilization services to clients. |
25 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011. |
