1	House Resolution
2	A resolution recognizing the 2009-2010 Rickards High
3	School Boys' Basketball Team, winners of the Florida High
4	School Athletic Association Class 3A State Championship.

6	WHEREAS, with commitment, determination, and hard work, the
7	2009-2010 Rickards High School Boys' Basketball Team won the
8	Florida High School Athletic Association Class 3A State
9	Championship on March 4, 2010, at the Lakeland Center by beating
10	the two-time defending State Champion, Pine Crest High School,
11	by a score of 70 to 46, and
12	WHEREAS, claiming the State Championship title, the 2009-
13	2010 Rickards High School Boys' Basketball Team finished the
14	season with a perfect 27-0 record, and
15	WHEREAS, outstanding skill, sportsmanship, and
16	competitiveness have been characteristics consistently
17	demonstrated by Rickards Raiders teammates Christopher Bryant,
18	Jakaria Bush, Cameron Coffee, D'Marnier Cunningham, Avery Curry,
19	Jerell Gregory, Jordan Gregory, Fredrick Griggs, Devonte
20	Johnson, Avery Moore, Rakeem Sparrow, and George Williams, and
21	WHEREAS, led by Head Coach Eli Bryant and Assistant Coaches
22	Avery Curry, Sr., and Chester Coffee, the Rickards Raiders
23	accomplished the team's goal to win the 3A state title and, in
24	doing so, became the first team since 2005 to finish the season
25	undefeated, and
26	WHEREAS, the 2010 championship marks the third Florida High
27	School Athletic Association State Championship for the Rickards
28	High School Boys' Basketball Team, the first since 1992, and
29	WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the 2009-2010 Rickards
30	High School Boys' Basketball Team is applauded for the numerous
31	accomplishments of its players and coaches, NOW, THEREFORE,

33	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
34	Florida:

36	That the Florida House of Representatives honors the 2009-
37	2010 Rickards High School Boys' Basketball Team for their
38	outstanding record and for winning the 2010 Florida High School
39	Athletic Association Class 3A State Championship.
40	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
41	presented to the 2009-2010 Rickards High School Boys' Basketball
42	Team as a tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein.
