Florida Senate - 2021 CS for SB 1892 By the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs, Space, and Domestic Security; and Senator Diaz 583-03272-21 20211892c1 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to the Emergency Preparedness and 3 Response Fund; creating s. 252.3711, F.S.; creating 4 the Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund within 5 the Executive Office of the Governor; providing for 6 the deposit and use of funds; providing for future 7 review and termination of the fund; providing an 8 effective date. 9 10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11 12 Section 1. Section 252.3711, Florida Statutes, is created 13 to read: 14 252.3711 Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund.— 15 (1) The Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund is created 16 within the Executive Office of the Governor. 17 (2) The fund is established for use as a depository for 18 moneys specifically appropriated to the fund. The moneys 19 deposited in the fund are available as a primary funding source 20 for the Governor for purposes of preparing or responding to an 21 emergency that exceeds regularly appropriated funding sources. 22 (3) In accordance with s. 19(f)(2), Art. III of the State 23 Constitution, the Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund 24 shall, unless terminated sooner, be terminated on July 1, 2025. 25 Before its scheduled termination, the fund shall be reviewed as 26 provided in s. 215.3206(1) and (2). 27 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2021.
