Florida Senate - 2019 SB 7022 By the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources 592-02364-19 20197022__ 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation 3 Commission citizen support organizations; amending s. 4 379.223, F.S.; abrogating the scheduled repeal of 5 provisions governing citizen support organizations 6 established under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation 7 Commission; creating s. 379.2231, F.S.; defining the 8 terms “convicted” and “conviction”; authorizing a 9 court to order persons convicted of certain violations 10 to pay an additional assessment; authorizing a 11 specified citizen support organization to post certain 12 rewards; providing an effective date. 13 14 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 15 16 Section 1. Subsection (4) of section 379.223, Florida 17 Statutes, is amended to read: 18 379.223 Citizen support organizations; use of state 19 property; audit.— 20(4) This section is repealed October 1, 2019, unless21reviewed and saved from repeal by the Legislature.22 Section 2. Section 379.2231, Florida Statutes, is created 23 to read: 24 379.2231 Additional assessment; Wildlife Alert Reward 25 Association, Inc.— 26 (1) As used in this section, the term “convicted” or 27 “conviction” means any judicial disposition other than acquittal 28 or dismissal. 29 (2) In addition to any other penalty provided by law, a 30 court may order a person who is convicted of a violation of this 31 chapter or of a rule or order of the commission to pay an 32 assessment directly to Wildlife Alert Reward Association, Inc. 33 (3) Wildlife Alert Reward Association, Inc., may pay a 34 reward, from the funds assessed pursuant to subsection (2), to a 35 person who provides information leading to the arrest of an 36 individual or individuals for a violation of this chapter or of 37 a rule or order of the commission. 38 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2019.
