Summary

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Article 2 of Chapter 13 of Title 16 and Part 3 of Article 16 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to regulation of controlled substances and student health in elementary and secondary education, respectively, so as to require prescribers to provide patients with information regarding the risks of physical and psychological dependence from opioids whenever a prescription for an opioid is issued; to require that prescribers provide patients with information about alternative treatment options and the attendant benefits and risks of such; to provide for definitions; to provide for an exception; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
