A RESOLUTION


Honoring and celebrating the life of Reverend Arcoliua C. Madison; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia lost a highly cherished and respected citizen with the passing of Reverend Arcoliua C. Madison on July 30, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Arcoliua C. Madison was born on July 7, 1938, in Moultrie, Georgia, to the late Jim Madison and Carrie Morgan Madison; and

WHEREAS, he was employed with Wells Aluminum for over 35 years as a press operator; and

WHEREAS, he was a member of Christ and Youth Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Franklin Waldon, Jr.; and

WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Haggins Madison; his parents; and two sisters, Evelyn McMillian and Catherine Madison; and

WHEREAS, he leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Thomas Madison, Arcoliua Madison, Jr., Samuel Madison, and Arcoleta Madison; five daughters, Diana Madison, Vertis Madison, Jody Madison-Williams, Treneda Madison-Wooden, and Tamika Madison; four brothers, Elder Thomas Lee Madison, Arthur Lee Madison, Jimmy Lee Madison, and Leroy Madison; four sisters, Beatrice Mathis, Jerlene Sutton, Betty Lee Stephenson, and Dorothy Jean Jones; a mother-in-law, Marjorie Tripp; two brothers-in-laws, Robert Haggins, Jr., and Deon Williams; three sisters-in-laws, Nadine Pace, Annie Mae Haggins-Davis, and Sandi Tripp; 29 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one special friend, Michael Waldon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and

WHEREAS, the passing of this beloved man will leave an unfillable void in the hearts and lives of his family, friends, and community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Reverend Arcoliua C. Madison and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Reverend Arcoliua C. Madison.
