BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act to revise, modernize, and consolidate the provisions of local law
relating to the State Court of Putnam County (formerly the County Court of
Putnam County), approved April 4, 1997 (Ga. L. 1997, p. 3839), so
as to provide that the State Court of Putnam County shall have concurrent
jurisdiction with the Magistrate Court of Putnam County regarding violations of
county ordinances of Putnam County; to provide for related matters; to provide
an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act to revise, modernize, and consolidate the provisions of local law relating
to the State Court of Putnam County (formerly the County Court of Putnam
County), approved April 4, 1997 (Ga. L. 1997, p. 3839),
is amended by revising Section 9 as follows:
"SECTION
9.
The
State Court of Putnam County shall have jurisdiction within the territorial
limits of Putnam County and concurrent with the superior courts. The court
shall have jurisdiction over the matters set out in Code Section 15-7-4 of the
O.C.G.A. The court shall also have concurrent jurisdiction with the Magistrate
Court of Putnam County regarding violations of county ordinances of Putnam
County."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
