A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to procurement.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 103, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§103-    Civil rights compliance.  (a)  Notwithstanding chapter 103D or 103F to the contrary, all contractors and prospective contractors, including those who are exempt from chapter 103D or 103F, shall comply with the following state and federal laws:

     (1)  Part I of chapter 378, chapter 489, and chapter 515 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes;

     (2)  Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended (Title 42 United States Code section 2000e et seq.);

     (3)  Equal Pay Act of 1963 (Title 29 United States Code section 206(d));

     (4)  Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended (Title 29 United States Code section 621 et seq.);

     (5)  Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended (Title 42 United State Code section 12101 et seq.);

     (6)  Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (Title 42 United States Code section 2000ff et seq.);

     (7)  Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Title 29 United States Code section 794 et seq.); and

     (8)  Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended (Title 42 United States Code 3601 et seq.)."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
