A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO IRRIGATION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 167, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§167-     Project water use.  Project water shall be used to irrigate agricultural land and pasture land; provided that agricultural land shall be first served with water in times of drought or shortage of supply."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

Report Title:

Description:

Provides that irrigation project water shall be used to irrigate pasture land in all projects.  Provides that agricultural land shall first be served with water in times of drought or short supply.
