A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

relating to employment.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Act 5, First Special Session Laws of Hawaii 2007, is amended by adding a new section to read as follows:

     "SECTION 3.5. The department of labor and industrial relations shall compile a report on the effectiveness of Act 5, First Special Session Laws of Hawaii 2007.  The report shall include, but not be limited to, data on the number of businesses that came under the scope of Act 5, First Special Session Laws 2007, the number of businesses that complied with the law, the number of businesses penalized for noncompliance, and the fiscal impact of the Act.  The report shall be submitted to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the 2010 Regular Session."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
