A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO VETERANS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. In a continuing effort to provide our state's veterans with the optimum of care and services in gratitude for their sacrifices, the legislature finds that the Yukio Okutsu state veterans home may better serve veterans on the island of Hawaii if the department of defense, office of veteran services were provided greater access to matters involving the operations of this facility and care for veterans.
The purpose of this Act is to ensure adequate and appropriate health care services for Hawaii's veterans receiving health care services at the Yukio Okutsu state veterans' home by providing the department of defense, office of veterans services with greater access and input into the veterans home's operations.
SECTION 2. Effective immediately, the Yukio Okutsu state veterans' home shall provide the department of defense, office of veterans services with full access to all information regarding appropriations, records, files, contracts, documents, maps, and other information necessary to ensure the health care services received by veterans at the Yukio Okutsu state veterans home are adequate and appropriate for the needs of the veterans.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2112.
