A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO THE hAWAII COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 206E, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new part to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"Part . Honolulu rail transit corridor community development district

§206E‑ Honolulu rail transit corridor community development district; rail transit stations; purposes. The purpose of designating the area surrounding each rail transit station of the Honolulu high-capacity transit corridor project as the Honolulu rail transit corridor development district shall be to ensure a planned approach to development in and around Honolulu rail transit stations to protect the State's interest in ensuring an orderly planning of retail and residential development of the area.

§206E‑ District; designation; boundaries. The Honolulu rail transit corridor community development district is established pursuant to section 206E-5. The district shall include those areas surrounding each rail transit station of the Honolulu high-capacity transit corridor project and extending outward for a one-half mile radius from each rail transit station."

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
