A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE BUDGET.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 37, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§37- Reporting of material changes to capital improvement projects. Prior to the implementation of any material change to a capital improvement project for which the legislature has already appropriated funds, the director of finance shall submit a report to the legislature that indicates the reasons for the material change.
For the purposes of this section, "material change" means a modification to the original scope of work as described by the project title and description of the capital improvement project appropriation."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
