A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO concessions on public property.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 102, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§102‑    Nutritional requirements of food and beverages sold or offered for sale through concessions.  Beginning on July 1, 2015, no new contract or contract renewal for the sale or offering for sale of food and beverages sold through concessions or concession space authorized pursuant to this chapter shall be executed unless the contract includes the sale or offering for sale of food and beverages that meet or exceed minimum nutritional requirements established by the department of health for this purpose."

     SECTION 2.  No later than July 1, 2015, the department of health shall adopt administrative rules, pursuant to chapter 91, Hawaii Revised Statutes, establishing minimum nutritional requirements for food and beverages sold or offered for sale through concessions or concession space pursuant to chapter 102, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

     SECTION 3.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
