A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE ELEVENTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $21,870,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2012-2013 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the eleventh senatorial district as follows:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Robert Louis Stevenson middle school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction of a multi-purpose education center.
Total funding $1,600,000
B. Robert Louis Stevenson middle school, Oahu
Plans and design of an administration complex.
Total funding $3,500,000
C. Roosevelt high school, Oahu
Re-survey the land and develop a master plan designed to address the current and future needs of the school.

D. Roosevelt high school, Oahu
Renovation/expansion of the gymnasium.

Retrofit current computer classroom into a digital media studio capable of school-wide live broadcasting as well as digital student work production. Retrofit to include converting a storage closet into a digital control center.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2014, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012.
