A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to civil rights.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to require every employer to post and keep posted a notice, to be prepared and prescribed by the civil rights commission, of state fair employment laws.

     SECTION 2.  Chapter 378, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§378-    Employer; posting of notices.  Every employer shall post and keep posted in a conspicuous place upon its premises where notices to employees and applicants are customarily posted a notice, to be prepared and prescribed by the commission, setting forth excerpts from or summaries of the provisions of this part and information on how to contact the commission.  Such notice shall be made available by the commission with no cost to employers."

     SECTION 3.  New statutory material is underscored.


     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on January 1, 2021.
