A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

making an appropriation for a physician assistant program.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $         or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2009-2010 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2010-2011 to be used as matching funds for one or more grants received by the University of Hawaii to fund the training of students to become physician assistants within a physician assistant program at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns school of medicine to address the medical needs of underserved communities within the State.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
