subsection

Code
2024,
is

amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

If
the
accredited
nonpublic
school

or
school
district
in
which
the
child
was
enrolled
and
the
4
accredited
nonpublic
school
or
school
district
in
which
the
5
child
is
currently
enrolled
both
agree
to
allow
the
child
to
6
participate
in
the
contest
or
competition
immediately.

with

by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
the
participation
in
extracurricular
11
interscholastic
contests
or
competitions
by
students
enrolled
12
in
public
schools
or
nonpublic
schools
in
grades
9
through
12.
13
Current
law
requires
the
state
board
of
education
to
14
adopt
rules
that
permit
a
child
who
does
not
meet
the
15
residence
requirements
for
participation
in
extracurricular
16
interscholastic
contests
or
competitions
sponsored
or
17
administered
by
an
organization,
as
defined
in
Code
section
18
280.13,
to
participate
in
the
contests
or
competitions
19
immediately
if
the
child
is
duly
enrolled
in
a
school,
is
20
otherwise
eligible
to
participate,
and
meets
one
of
several
21
specified
circumstances.
The
bill
adds
to
the
list
of
22
circumstances
the
scenario
in
which
the
accredited
nonpublic
23
school
or
school
district
in
which
the
child
was
enrolled
and
24
the
accredited
nonpublic
school
or
school
district
in
which
the
25
child
is
currently
enrolled
both
agree
to
allow
the
child
to
26
participate
in
the
contest
or
competition
immediately.
If
the
27
child
does
not
meet
one
of
the
enumerated
circumstances,
the
28
child
is
ineligible
to
compete
for
90
consecutive
school
days.
