S.F. 2250 Section 1. Section 321.1, subsections 89, 92, and 93, Code 1 2014, are amended to read as follows: 2 89. “Used vehicle parts dealer” means a person engaged in , 3 or advertising as being engaged in, the business of selling 4 bodies, parts of bodies, frames, or component parts of used 5 vehicles subject to registration under this chapter . 6 92. “Vehicle rebuilder” means a person engaged in , or 7 advertising as being engaged in, the business of rebuilding 8 or restoring to operating condition vehicles subject to 9 registration under this chapter , which have been damaged or 10 wrecked. 11 93. “Vehicle salvager” means a person engaged in , or 12 advertising as being engaged in, the business of scrapping 13 vehicles, dismantling or storing wrecked or damaged vehicles 14 or selling reusable parts of vehicles or storing vehicles not 15 currently registered which vehicles are subject to registration 16 under this chapter . 17 Sec. 2. Section 321H.2, subsections 6, 8, and 9, Code 2014, 18 are amended to read as follows: 19 6. “Used vehicle parts dealer” means a person engaged in , 20 or advertising as being engaged in, the business of selling 21 bodies, parts of bodies, frames, or component parts of used 22 vehicles subject to registration. 23 8. “Vehicle rebuilder” means a person engaged in , or 24 advertising as being engaged in, the business of rebuilding 25 or restoring to operating condition vehicles subject to 26 registration which have been damaged or wrecked. 27 9. “Vehicle salvager” means a person engaged in , or 28 advertising as being engaged in, the business of scrapping, 29 recycling, dismantling, or storing wrecked or damaged vehicles 30 or selling reusable parts of vehicles or storing vehicles not 31 currently registered which vehicles are vehicles subject to 32 registration. 33 Sec. 3. S.F. 2250 Except for educational institutions; persons licensed as new 1 vehicle dealers under chapter 322 ; persons engaged in a hobby 2 not for profit; persons engaged in the business of purchasing 3 bodies, parts of bodies, frames, or component parts of vehicles 4 only for sale as scrap metal; insurance companies governed by 5 chapter 515; county mutual insurance associations governed by 6 chapter 518; state mutual insurance associations governed by 7 chapter 518A; or persons licensed under the provisions of this 8 chapter as authorized vehicle recyclers, a person in this state 9 shall not engage in , or advertise as being engaged in, the 10 business of any of the following: 11 -2- SF 2250 (3) 85 dea/nh/jh 2/ 2
