  1  1    Section 1.  Section 99B.31, subsection 1, paragraph h, Code
  1  2 2018, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    h.  The actual retail value of any prize does not exceed one
  1  4 hundred dollars the designated prize value limit. If a prize
  1  5 consists of more than one item, unit, or part, the aggregate
  1  6 retail value of all items, units, or parts shall not exceed one
  1  7 hundred dollars the designated prize value limit.  For purposes
  1  8 of this paragraph, the "designated prize value limit" is nine
  1  9 hundred fifty dollars for an amusement concession conducted at
  1 10 a facility that is at least fifteen thousand square feet and is
  1 11 one hundred dollars for all other amusement concessions.
  1 12    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of immediate
  1 13 importance, takes effect upon enactment.
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 16 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 17    This bill concerns amusement concessions.
  1 18    The bill increases the maximum allowable retail value for
  1 19 any prize awarded for an amusement concession from $100 to $950
  1 20 only for an amusement concession conducted at a facility that
  1 21 is at least 15,000 square feet.
  1 22    The bill takes effect upon enactment.
