                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO.    
             BY  KRAAYENBRINK, SEGEBART, BEHN, and GUTH
  1  1 A Resolution recognizing and congratulating the
  1  2    Iowa Central Community College men's and women's
  1  3    track, women's soccer, and men's cross country
  1  4    teams and programs on their outstanding athletic
  1  5    accomplishments.
  1  6    WHEREAS, the Iowa Central Community College men's
  1  7 and women's indoor track and field teams won the
  1  8 National Junior College Athletic Association Indoor
  1  9 Track and Field Championships held on March 4=5, 2016,
  1 10 in Winston=Salem, North Carolina; and
  1 11    WHEREAS, the men's and women's track and field
  1 12 teams entered the championships ranked 1st and 2nd,
  1 13 respectively; and
  1 14    WHEREAS, the men's and women's track and field teams
  1 15 have each won the national title four times since
  1 16 2010; and
  1 17    WHEREAS, the Iowa Central Community College women's
  1 18 soccer team won the National Junior College Athletic
  1 19 Association Women's Soccer Championships on November
  1 20 21, 2015, on the Melbourne Campus of Eastern Florida
  1 21 State University in Brevard County, Florida; and
  1 22    WHEREAS, the women's soccer team entered the
  1 23 championship ranked 3rd with a 15=1 record; and
  1 24    WHEREAS, it was the women's soccer team's first
  1 25 national title; and
  1 26    WHEREAS, the Iowa Central Community College men's
  1 27 cross country team won the National Junior College
  1 28 Athletic Association Cross Country Championships held
  2  1 on November 14, 2015, in Fort Dodge, Iowa; and
  2  2    WHEREAS, the men's cross country team was ranked 1st
  2  3 for a majority of the season and won the national title
  2  4 for the second consecutive year; NOW THEREFORE,
  2  5    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
  2  6 recognizes and congratulates the Iowa Central Community
  2  7 College men's and women's track, women's soccer,
  2  8 and men's cross country teams and programs for their
  2  9 outstanding achievements in winning National Junior
  2 10 College Athletic Association Championships in late 2015
  2 11 and early 2016; and
  2 12    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this
  2 13 resolution be sent to Iowa Central Community College
  2 14 President Dr. Dan Kinney, Track and Field Head Coach
  2 15 Denny Myers, Women's Soccer Head Coach Christiane
  2 16 Lessa, and Men's Cross Country Head Coach Dee Brown.
