AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3850
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3850 on page 3 by
3replacing line 12 through line 13 with the following:
4"allows the defendant, with her or his agreement with the
5consent of the prosecution, to enter the drug court program";
6and
7on page 6, line 14, by replacing "shall" with "shall"; and
8on page 6, line 16, by replacing "shall" with "may shall"; and
9on page 8, line 14, by replacing "convicted" with "charged";
10and
11on page 10, by replacing line 19 through line 22 with the
12following:
13"substance use disorder or mental health treatment, comply
14with abuse treatment in an outpatient, inpatient, residential,

1or jail-based custodial treatment program"; and
2on page 21, by inserting the following immediately above line
320:
4"Recognizing that the term "mentor" is aligned with other
5veteran services and programs, and recognizing that a mentor
6may foster closer rapport than a coach, peer recovery coaches
7and peer mentors may be considered distinctly different roles
8while operating in accordance with Supreme Court Standards,
9and the court's policies and procedures."; and
10on page 21, by replacing line 21 through line 23 with the
11following:
12"Program" means a program that allows the defendant, with her
13or his agreement, to enter the program before plea,
14conviction, or disposition, and"; and
15on page 24, by replacing line 12 through line 13 with the
16following:
17"programs in accordance with the nationally recommended 10 Key
18Components of Veteran Treatment courts and Illinois Supreme
19Court"; and
20on page 26, line 8, by deleting "shall"; and
21on page 26, line 10, by replacing "shall" with "may"; and
