1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5573

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5573 by replacing | ||||||
3 | lines 23 on page 20 through line 4 on page 21 with " defendant's | ||||||
4 | written motion. The victim may choose a different person to be | ||||||
5 | the victim's support person. The court may allow the defendant | ||||||
6 | to inquire about matters outside the scope of the direct | ||||||
7 | examination during cross examination. If the court allows the | ||||||
8 | defendant to do so, the support person shall be allowed to | ||||||
9 | remain "; and

10 | on page 21, immediately below line 12, by inserting the | ||||||
11 | following:

12 | " If the court does not allow the defendant to | ||||||
13 | inquire about matters outside the scope of the direct | ||||||
14 | examination, the support person shall be allowed to | ||||||
15 | remain in the courtroom after the support person has | ||||||
16 | been called by the defendant or the defendant has |
