Summary

Amends provisions of the Toll Highway Act and the Illinois Vehicle Code relating to toll violations detected by the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority's video or photo surveillance system and red light violations detected by an automated traffic law enforcement system in a municipality or county. Provides that violation notices must be sent no later than 30 days after the date of the alleged violation. Requires notices to be accompanied by copies of any and all evidence, material, or similar information relevant to the alleged violation. Provides that if the public entity with jurisdiction fails to comply with the violation notice requirements, the alleged violator has an affirmative defense to an alleged violation. Effective immediately.
