Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that any individual or group policy of accident and health insurance amended, delivered, issued, or renewed in this State after the effective date of the Act that provides coverage for prescription drugs must allow for the refilling of prescription eye drop medication prior to the last day of the approved dosage period without regard to coverage restrictions on early refills. Provides that any refills dispensed prior to the expiration of the prescription and approved coverage period pursuant to the Section shall, to the extent practicable, be limited in quantity so as not to exceed the remaining dosage initially approved for coverage. Provides that nothing in the provisions limits or restricts coverage with regard to any previously or subsequently approved prescription for eye drop medication and affected prescriptions shall otherwise be subject to the terms and conditions of the policy, and that nothing in the provisions shall be interpreted as prohibiting a pharmacist from contacting the prescribing physician or health care provider to verify the prescription.
