Bill Title: Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that the Department of Corrections may provide temporary housing assistance for a person being released from a correctional institution or facility of the Department of Corrections through the use of rental vouchers, for a period not to exceed 6 months, if the Department finds that such assistance will support the person's release into the community by preventing housing instability or homelessness. Provides that a person may not receive a combined total of rental vouchers in excess of 6 months for each release from a correctional institution or facility of the Department of Corrections. Provides that the Department of Corrections shall establish policies for prioritizing funds available for housing vouchers for persons at risk of becoming homeless or becoming homeless without assistance while taking into account risk to reoffend.
