Bill Title: Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that allogeneic islet cell transplantation and the immunosuppressive medications needed to maintain the transplantation shall be covered under the medical assistance program for persons with brittle type 1 diabetes who have developed hypoglycemic unawareness after years of intensive insulin therapy and present with life-threatening, severe hypoglycemic episodes.
