Bill Title: Amends the Fire Protection District Act. Provides that upon the effective date of this amendatory Act, the township board of trustees shall constitute the board of commissioners of a fire protection district if: that district is governed by a 3-member board appointed by the township board in a county with a population greater than 900,000 and less than 1,000,000; and that district serves residents in unincorporated areas of a township and contracts for those fire protection services with surrounding fire departments. Provides that the members of the township board of trustees shall not receive compensation for their service as the board of the fire protection district. Further provides that fire protection district commissioners appointed prior to the effective date of this amendatory Act shall constitute the board of the fire protection district until the expiration of the term of office of the most recently appointed board member. Effective immediately.
