Bill Title: Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Public Health to create the Food Desert Remediation Program, under which the Department, subject to appropriation, shall allocate funds as grants or loans to entities for which more than 50% of their annual revenue is derived from the sale of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other healthful whole foods within food deserts. Provides that the Department may require that grant and loan recipients under the Program be in compliance with the Prevailing Wage Act. Provides that the Department shall adopt rules for the implementation of the provisions.
