Bill Title: Amends the Downstate Teacher Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that the Governor shall appoint 5 (instead of 7) persons to the Board of Trustees of the Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois who are not members of the System. Makes conforming changes. Effective July 1, 2024.
