20 ILCS 2310/2310-640 new

Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. 1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and
5 Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
6 amended by adding Section 2310-640 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 2310/2310-640 new)
8 Sec. 2310-640. Student athletes; EKG test required; pilot
9 program. The Department shall establish a 3-year pilot program
10 for City of Chicago School District 299 in which the Department
11 shall require an electrocardiogram (EKG) test as part of the
12 health examination that student athletes are required to
13 undergo. Rulemaking authority to implement this amendatory Act
14 of the 96th General Assembly, if any, is conditioned on the
15 rules being adopted in accordance with all provisions of the
16 Illinois Administrative Procedure Act and all rules and
17 procedures of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules; any
18 purported rule not so adopted, for whatever reason, is
19 unauthorized.
