| 1 | AN ACT concerning local government.
| ||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding | ||||||
| 5 | Section 1-2-12.1 as follows:

| 6 | (65 ILCS 5/1-2-12.1 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 1-2-12.1. Municipal bond fees. A municipality may | ||||||
| 8 | impose a fee up to $20 for bail processing against any person | ||||||
| 9 | arrested for violating a bailable municipal ordinance or a | ||||||
| 10 | State or federal law.

| 11 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 12 | becoming law.
