Bill Title: Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Designates the second Wednesday in May of each year as Mother Mary Ann Bickerdyke Day, to be observed throughout the State as a day set apart to honor Mother Mary Ann Bickerdyke of Galesburg, military nurses, and the contribution of nurses to the State of Illinois and the United States of America. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning government.
| ||||
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||
represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by | ||||
adding Section 175 as follows:

(5 ILCS 490/175 new) | ||||
Sec. 175. Mother Mary Ann Bickerdyke Day. The second | ||||
Wednesday in May of each year is designated as Mother Mary Ann | ||||
Bickerdyke Day, to be observed throughout the State as a day | ||||
set apart to honor Mother Mary Ann Bickerdyke of Galesburg, | ||||
military nurses, and the contribution of nurses to the State of | ||||
Illinois and the United States of America.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||
becoming law.
