1 AN ACT concerning business.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Home Repair and Remodeling Act is amended by
5 changing Section 15 as follows:
6 (815 ILCS 513/15)
7 Sec. 15. Written contract; costs enumerated requirements;
8 contents. Prior to initiating home repair or remodeling work
9 for over $1,000, a person engaged in the the business of home
10 repair or remodeling shall furnish to the customer for
11 signature a written contract or work order that states the
12 total cost, including parts and materials listed with
13 reasonable particularity and any charge for an estimate. In
14 addition, the contract shall state the business name and
15 address of the person engaged in the business of home repair or
16 remodeling. If the person engaged in the business of home
17 repair or remodeling uses a post office box or mail receiving
18 service or agent to receive home repair or remodeling business
19 correspondence, the contract also shall state the residence
20 address of the person engaged in the business of home repair or
21 remodeling.
