Bill Title: Amends the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois (Department of Professional Regulation Law). Provides that all fees for licensure with the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for military families shall be waived except for the actual cost of fingerprinting and a criminal background check for an initial licensure under the relevant Act. Defines "military families".

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Department of Professional Regulation Law | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
6 | adding Section 2105-370 as follows:

7 | (20 ILCS 2105/2105-370 new) | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | Sec. 2105-370. Licensure fee waiver for military families. | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | All fees for licensure with the Department for military | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | families shall be waived except for the actual cost of | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | fingerprinting and a criminal background check for an initial | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | licensure under the relevant Act. | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | As used in this Section, "military families" means | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | active-duty service members in the armed services of the | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | United States, military spouses, honorably discharged veterans | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | of the armed services of the United States, spouses of such | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | honorably discharged veterans, and unmarried surviving spouses | |||||||||||||||||||
18 | of deceased service members of the armed services of the | |||||||||||||||||||
19 | United States.
