SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
410 ILCS 205/4.5 new

    Amends the Child Vision and Hearing Test Act. Provides that color discrimination tests shall be performed in all vision screening services under this Act. Provides that the Department of Public Health shall adopt rules implementing this Section before January 1, 2027.

1    AN ACT concerning health.
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4    Section 5. The Child Vision and Hearing Test Act is
5amended by adding Section 4.5 as follows:
6    (410 ILCS 205/4.5 new)
7    Sec. 4.5. Color discrimination tests mandatory.
8Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,
9color discrimination tests shall be performed in all vision
10screening services under this Act. The Department of Public
11Health shall adopt rules implementing this Section before
12January 1, 2027.
