Bill Title: Amends the State Comptroller Act. Requires that the Comptroller publish each comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) within 6 months after the end of the fiscal year to which the report relates. Requires that the Comptroller give notice of a publication delay to the Governor and legislative leaders and on the Comptroller's official website. Effective July 1, 2009.

1 | AN ACT concerning State government.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The State Comptroller Act is amended by adding | ||||||
5 | Section 30 as follows:
| ||||||
6 | (15 ILCS 405/30 new) | ||||||
7 | Sec. 30. Comprehensive annual financial reports. The | ||||||
8 | Comptroller shall publish each comprehensive annual financial | ||||||
9 | report (CAFR) within 6 months after the end of the fiscal year | ||||||
10 | to which the report relates. If the report is not published | ||||||
11 | within that period, the Comptroller must promptly give notice | ||||||
12 | of the delay to the Governor, the Speaker and Minority Leader | ||||||
13 | of the House of Representatives, and the President and Minority | ||||||
14 | Leader of the Senate and post notice of the delay on the | ||||||
15 | Comptroller's official website.

16 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, | ||||||
