Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the Department of Human Services shall not seek to renew or extend any federal waiver of the 3-month time limit or work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependent children who apply for or receive benefits under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Effective immediately.

1 | AN ACT concerning public aid.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
5 | adding Section 12-4.51 as follows:

6 | (305 ILCS 5/12-4.51 new) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 12-4.51. SNAP; able-bodied adults without dependent | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
8 | children; waiver removal. The Department of Human Services | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
9 | shall not seek to renew or extend any federal waiver of the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
10 | 3-month time limit or work requirements for able-bodied adults | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
11 | without dependent children who apply for or receive benefits | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
12 | under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
